Ingredients

Scale

Coffee Base

  • 2 shots of espresso (about 2 oz)

Milk & Topping

  • 8 oz whole milk (or milk of choice)
  • 2 tbsp caramel sauce
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare Espresso: Brew two shots of fresh espresso using an espresso machine or a strong coffee maker to create the concentrated coffee base.
  2. Steam Milk: Heat and steam the milk until it is hot and frothy, creating a creamy foam on top. This can be done using a steam wand or a milk frother.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Pour the hot espresso into a latte glass, stir in the caramel sauce and sugar until fully dissolved and combined.
  4. Add Milk & Foam: Slowly pour the steamed milk into the espresso mixture, holding back the foam with a spoon and then topping the latte with the foam for a creamy texture.
  5. Serve: Optionally, drizzle some extra caramel sauce on top for garnish and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • You can use any type of milk (almond, oat, soy) depending on your preference.
  • Adjust the sweetness by modifying the amount of caramel and sugar.
  • For a richer latte, whole milk is recommended, but low-fat or skim milk can also be used.
  • To replicate the brulee flavor further, you can sprinkle a touch of brown sugar on top and torch it lightly to create a caramelized crust.
  • If you don’t have an espresso machine, strong brewed coffee can be used as a substitute.
