Ingredients

Scale

Cake Base

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix

Filling & Toppings

  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped mini peanut butter cups, divided
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or melting chocolate, melted
  • 1/4 cup crushed graham crackers or cookies (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish thoroughly to ensure the cake does not stick.
  2. Add Cake Mix: Evenly pour the dry chocolate cake mix into the prepared baking dish. Do not stir or mix at this stage; keep the dry layer intact.
  3. Drizzle Wet Ingredients: Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk and smooth peanut butter evenly over the top of the cake mix. Use a spoon to lightly swirl them together, distributing the flavors but not fully mixing them in.
  4. Add Peanut Butter Cups and Caramel: Sprinkle half of the chopped mini peanut butter cups over the top of the mixture, then drizzle with the caramel sauce to add another layer of sweetness and gooey texture.
  5. Bake: Place the dish uncovered in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. The edges should be set while the center remains slightly gooey to achieve the perfect texture.
  6. Cool and Add Toppings: Remove from oven and let the cake cool for about 10 minutes. Then top it with the remaining chopped peanut butter cups, drizzle with melted chocolate, and sprinkle with crushed graham crackers or cookies, if using, for added crunch.
  7. Serve: Serve the dump cake warm, optionally with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for a luscious dessert experience.

Notes

  • For the best gooey texture, avoid overbaking; the center should still jiggle slightly when done.
  • You can substitute peanut butter with almond butter or cookie butter for different flavors.
  • Using parchment paper to line the baking dish can make cleanup easier.
  • Serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream elevates the dessert’s richness.
