Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the green beans. Rinse and trim the green beans by snapping off the stem ends and set them aside.
  2. Stir-fry the green beans. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the green beans and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until they are bright green and slightly blistered but still crisp.
  3. Add garlic and sauce. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and stir-fry for another 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar. Toss to coat the green beans evenly with the sauce and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  4. Serve. Remove from heat and transfer the spicy green beans to a serving dish. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For extra heat, increase the chili garlic sauce or add sliced fresh chilies.
  • Can be served as a side dish or appetizer with rice or noodles.
  • Use fresh green beans for the best crisp texture; frozen beans can be substituted but may result in softer beans.
  • Adjust the sugar and vinegar amounts to balance the spice to your liking.
