Pie Crust
- 1 pre-made pie crust (9-inch)
Honey Filling
- 3/4 cup honey
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Prepare the Pie Crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and set it aside while you prepare the filling.
- Mix the Filling: In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey and eggs until smooth. Slowly add the melted butter, stirring constantly, then mix in the heavy cream and salt until the mixture is well combined and homogeneous.
- Pour and Bake: Pour the honey mixture into the prepared pie crust. Place the pie on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is a golden brown color. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool completely on a wire rack. This will help the filling set further and make slicing easier. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving for best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Use a glass or metal pie dish for even baking.
- Ensure the honey is of good quality for the best flavor.
- Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing to prevent the filling from being too runny.
- You can sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top before serving for added texture and flavor contrast.
