Ingredients

Scale

Beef Marinade

  • 1 pound beef (ribeye or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, sugar, and minced garlic. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Marinate the Beef: Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, making sure each piece is well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse the meat.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill to medium-high, ensuring it is hot before placing the meat on it to achieve a good sear.
  4. Grill the Beef: Place the marinated beef slices on the grill in a single layer. Grill for about 2–3 minutes on each side, or until the meat is caramelized and cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  5. Serve: Remove the beef from the grill and serve immediately with your favorite Korean side dishes or steamed rice.

Notes

  • For even more flavor, add a teaspoon of sesame oil or chopped green onions to the marinade.
  • To tenderize tougher cuts, marinate the beef for up to 4 hours.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can use a grill pan or a hot skillet on the stovetop.
  • Serve with lettuce wraps, kimchi, and dipping sauces for a traditional Korean BBQ experience.
